amy’s study guides
A few semesters ago, I had requests for my study guides. Here are the ones that I still have. The first few are rather large zip files that contain high quality PDF scans so that they can be printed. It may take a few minutes for them to download. I continue adding my new ones as I make them. They are smaller word docs so they will be quick. Keep in mind, that I make these while taking the class. I learn from each test, just like everyone else. As I learn how the instructor tests, the study guides adapt. I do not go back and add/change/correct the study guides after taking the quizzes. With that in mind, the first quiz of each semester is generally the poorest. These are not meant to replace lecture or reading. This is how I study. Each person needs to do what works for themselves.
*FYI: In our final semester, we complete the portfolio that we started in NS110. You may want to take a look at the PORTFOLIO REQUIREMENTS for NS410 so that you can start saving each semester rather than having to go back & try to dig things up.

No more crtiical care study guides? :( Are a lot of help!
Hadn’t heard anything so I didn’t think anyone was interested. Added a few for ya. Don’t have a lot from that semester b/c I didn’t have the time for the review sheets.
I love your study guides! Having difficulty with drug cal! any guides for that. Please leave your study guides up , I am a ways behind you and they really do help!
I didn’t do any guides for Drug Calc but I found a few sites that may be useful. I did not use these but they look like they could be handy. Hope it helps.

Hi Just starting Issues in Healthcare. Do you have anymore Quiz’s than the first 2. Your site is so helpful!
thanks
Thanks Amy… I dont know how to open the zip files though.
Tremendous work! You should put together a study guide and self publish!
If you get a chance, I would appreciate the long written head to toe assessment form. The link for that is broken.
Thanks!
Mike, I updated the link. It’s not the same as the original but still pretty good. Here are a few more that you may find of interest:

anything for OB?
Thanks,
Torri
I’m just starting OB but I’ll be sure to share what I come up.
you’re great!
Hey Amy,
I really appreciate your study guides. They are a tremendous help to start studying. I was wondering if you have the rest of the scientific investigations or issues, I would greatly appreciate them.
thanks
Erin
THANK YOU!!!
you’re study guide have been very helpful through my time so far here at Clarkson College. Keep up the good work b/c we’re almost done!!!!!
Amy you are a life saver, I am sooooo glad I found your site! We just started clinicals, and I needed something on head-to-toe…ur site is marvelous!…I WILL be back! Thanks Amy!
Hi Amy!
Thank you for putting up your review sheets! I was talking to some girls at the luncheon today about how your reviews pulled me through health assessment :). So thank you for sharing!
Thanks for doing this Amy! It is so much help! I am a couple of semesters behind you and I hope you’ll keep this up for a while after you graduate.
Thanks Amy. This is a tremedous site. Your reviews for the test are quite helpful. Hope you continue to be such a great blessing to many.
Hello Amy,
Do you have any study guides for Leadership Management? Thanks, for all your help throughout my time at Clarkson College. You are a life saver.
Sorry, no Leadership ones. Everything I have is there. If it’s not there, then I didn’t make one. Sometimes, I simply didn’t have the time. Some classes, I didn’t have a need.
I start my first day of clinicals at the hospital tomorrow and Im actually kind of nervous.
Your info on the head2toe assessement will definitely help!
Thanks so much!!!
Your pyramid of Erikson’s 8 phases of psychosocial development, is, unfortunately, actually Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. You may want to correct that. If your other study guides are similarly inaccurate, I hope students are not actually using them.
K.K., I appreciate your concern but I believe you may want to look up both Maslow & Erikson again. I double checked both again just to be sure I had not transposed them & what I have appears to be consistent in a number of places. If you would like additional sites, I have listed a few below.
Erikson:

Maslow:

Thanks for the help, would you possibly have anything on healthcare communications and or physiology?
Sorry but I did not take physiology @ Clarkson & I didn’t make any for HC Communications. Good luck.
Hi do you also have any on Scientific investigations or health care issues?
Thanks
Sorry but I didn’t make any for Sci Inv and the few I did for Issues are already out there.
I appreciate all that you have put on here! It has been so helpful!
By chance could you repost the portfolio guidelines…I cannot open them.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Kimberly, I have been trying to repost the guidelines & seem to be having some issues. I’ll consult my tech guy (aka hubby) to figure it out but hopefully will have it back up soon.
Portfolio Requirements have been added.
Hi Amy – Thank you for the time you have taken to type and share your notes. You truly help so many students succeed, or at least make the study process simpler. It’s nice to spend all the time focusing on the info, not half of it just looking it up. Question? I still have 2 years left, and realize you graduate this semester. Will you still keep your notes posted for future students? I sure hope so!
THANKS!
Shayla, I will be leaving the notes up.
Amy I just have to say that I miss your face in classes and sitting in the front row with you!!! But I’m really excited that you’re graduating this semester. Good luck with life!
Amy – Thanks so much for the study guides. Pharm study guides will be a great help!
Question – I’m going to be starting Health Assessment this summer (2010). Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to which books are necessary for the class. Some of the books listed are Mediquik Cards, Physical Exam & Health Assess: pocket companion, book and lab manual & Laboratory Tests & Diagnostic Procedures. Are all of these necessary?
Personally, I thought the Mediquik Cards were useless. Didn’t buy the pocket companion either. However, you definitely want the Lab & Diagnostic book. You’ll use this all the way through school. As for the lab manual, I don’t honestly remember whether we used it or not. I didn’t keep mine so I would assume it means we either didn’t use it & I sold it or I never bought it to begin with. Sorry, someone else might have a better memory on that one.
Hi do you have any other reviews for Issues in health care? They are so helpful!
first off thank you so much for posting this. it has helped so much throught out school. i had a question about how to open some of the zipped files in critical care. exam 2 midterm 2, and exam 3. do you have any ideas or know what i may be doing wrong?
