wedding crashers (3/5)

January 10, 2006 |  by Jamie Wallingford  |  movies  |  No Comments

Lynne let me borrow her copy of Wedding Crashers and Amy and I stayed up over the weekend to watch it.

First thing, this is not a kid friendly movie.

Amy and I both had fun watching it. It had us both laughing and snickering and is one we will probably watch again.

On to my rating…

After the putting the kids down to bed, Amy and I watched The 40 Year Old Virgin.

If you are looking for a stupid funny movie to watch and there are no kids around. I would give this movie a go. This movie had both Amy and I laughing out loud, which was a good thing.

If you are looking for a fighting action flick, not a bad movie. The girl annoyed the crap out me though. I understand why she is there, but the incessant talking just got to me.

fantastic four (2.5/5)

The family and I watched fantastic four tonight.

It was a fun video to watch with the family, and Guy got a real kick out of Johnny, aka The Human Tourch.

If you are in the mood for a cheesy comic movie, and have already seen Spider-Man, then I would give fantastic four a shot.

love actually (4/5)

December 5, 2005 |  by Jamie Wallingford  |  movies  |  No Comments

This weekend Geoff and Anne recommended the movie love actually. So when Amy picked up Mr. & Mrs. Smith, she also picked it up.

Tonight Amy put the movie in and we relalized that we had already seen it. The funny thing is we both liked this movie, but it did not hit home until the movie started.

Anyway this is how I rate it:

Did I like the movie: Yes
Would I watch the movie again: Yes
Would I recommend the movie: Yes
Would I buy the movie: Yes
Is this one of my favorite movies: No

Therefore it gets a 4/5 rating.

One noteworthy thing about this movie. It has a great soundtrack.

GOF

We took Dad and Sam to see the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire movie.

Definitely the best movie of the series, and a good flick to watch, period. But it did not live up to all the hype.

As a fan of the books, I was a little disappointed with several things that were glossed over or changed. Though, seeing as how the book is 734 pages and the movie was 2.5 hours long, I can accept the changes and fast pace.

I would be weary taking smaller children though, as some of the scenes are dark and scary.
